Cleo’s Christmas Show

On December 16-17th, 2016, WAVE was delighted to perform at Cleo’s Christmas Show with Cleo Laine, Jacqui, Emily and Alec Dankworth, Charlie Wood and many other jazz luminaries including Ian Shaw, Henry Lowther and John Horler. The show was at The Stables in Milton Keynes.
They were both wonderful evenings, compered by the inimitable and talented Ian Shaw. Cleo was in fine form, cracking jokes as well as singing a few numbers. Everyone joined hands in the finale to sing White Christmas and Auld Langs Syne.
We performed 4 songs in total: an upbeat arrangement of ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’, a more soulful and contemporary version of ‘Away in a Manger’ and we supplied the backing vocals for Jacqui Dankworth and Charlie Woods on two numbers: ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ and ‘Feelin’ Groovy’.
